Job summary

The SC Department of Children's Advocacy is seeking a dedicated Case Worker to manage cases, prepare for court, and advocate for children in the guardianship program. Work under supervision with limited discretion while coordinating with county and state offices.

Responsibilities include direct advocacy, case documentation, and volunteer supervision, with travel and occasional evenings or weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent may be considered with an approved equivalence by the Division of State Human Resources (DSHR).
• Valid driver's license required.
• Experience in case management and advocacy is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform direct advocacy for abuse/neglect victims within the assigned circuit.
• Prepare for and attend court as needed; maintain case files and documentation.
• Provide day-to-day case management and supervision/assistance to volunteer advocates.
• Establish and maintain relationships with DSS, Family Court and child-serving agencies.
• Train and supervise volunteers; complete special assignments from supervisor.
