Valency Systems Inc. in Berkeley, CA seeks a builder who writes production-quality code and creates demos, integrations, and technical content to enable Proofs of Concept for customers.
You will bridge product, engineering, and GTM, building MCP-first demos and tutorials used by researchers and enterprise buyers. This is a startup role with high autonomy and impact on GTM initiatives.
Valency Systems is a small, dynamic team of engineers, scientists, and researchers building the global hub for the agentic research era.
We're based in Berkeley, California, and we're building something that matters. If you care about open science, advancing research at the speed of thought, and using AI to accelerate discovery, we'd love to talk.
Our team is hybrid. We come together in person at least 3 days a week, with the option for 2 days of remote work.
Valency Bond is an MCP-first platform — our buyers are researchers, research computing teams, and technical evaluators at national labs and enterprise R&D orgs who will not take our word for it. They want to see it work, poke at the API, and run it against their own data before they trust it.
You are the person who makes that possible. You sit between product, engineering, and go-to-market — building the demos, integrations, and technical content that turn "interesting" into "let's do a POC." You are not writing marketing copy; you are writing code, sample MCP servers, and documentation that a skeptical staff scientist would actually use.
This is a builder role at a small startup with no existing GTM engineering function. You will define what "good" looks like as much as you execute it.
