Job summary

RTX, a leading aerospace and defense company, seeks a Weld Operator for Collins Aerospace in Wilson, NC. This 3rd shift, onsite role requires GTAW welding on thin-gauge materials, reading technical drawings, and performing inspections to ensure quality welds.

You will set up and operate welding equipment, train others as needed, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required; vocational/technical education preferred.
• 1+ years GTAW welding experience and 1+ years welding fabrication experience.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate welding equipment per drawings and WPS ranges.
• Perform manual, semi-automatic, mechanized GTAW welding on various materials.
• Inspect welds using calipers, micrometers, borescopes, and gauges; repair as needed.
• Follow safety, EH&S, and compliance standards; maintain clean work area.
