Job Title: Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) Technician

Location: Ocnwc - Oconomowoc, WI

Position Type: Full Time

Shift: 1st shift (Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM)

Job Summary

Perform semi-automatic/automatic GTAW operations on standard and repetitive parts, ensuring quality and precision in welding processes.

Responsibilities

• Interpret sketches, routings, and process control sheets to understand dimensions, tolerances, and setup requirements.
• Perform GTAW welding on various metals, including stainless steel, nickel alloy, and cobalt alloy, in flat position with limited technique requirements.
• Certify groove welds on materials like 17-4PH, Inconel 718, and Haynes 188 according to AWS D17.1 Class A standards.
• Complete sheet metal grinding, forming, and fitting operations as needed.
• Inspect weldments visually, identify defects, and perform repairs.
• Understand welding symbols, terms, and definitions per AWS standards.
• Coordinate with Maintenance Department for preventive maintenance on welding equipment.
• Adhere to Quality System work instructions and safety policies.
• Maintain accurate documentation and meet attendance and production standards.
• Assist team members and contribute to team efforts as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; minimum six months of related experience or training.
• Ability to read and understand sketches, routings, safety rules, and manuals.
• Effective communication skills with team members and stakeholders.
• Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division of decimals and fractions.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
