Job description

Job Title: Welder - 2nd or 3rd Shift

Join MetalTek International as a Welder - 2nd or 3rd Shift.

Job Requirements

Responsibilities include setting up and performing manual welding to repair castings according to industry, internal, and customer specifications using the GTAW process. Tasks involve setup, preheat, clamping, grinding, blending, visual inspection of welds, and working from weld procedure specifications, drawings, and sketches. The role requires producing NDT quality welds with proper materials, assisting in developing new repair techniques, maintaining equipment calibrations, and ensuring records comply with Nadcap requirements.

Qualifications

• Two to four years of TIG welding experience.
• Ability to pass a 1G Vee-Groove weld qualification in 300 Series Stainless Steel, including visual, PT, RT, bend, and tensile tests.
• Must maintain all certifications per ASME Sec.IX, MIL-STD-1595A, S9074-AQ-GIB-010/248 & 278, AMS 2694A, or equivalent.
• Ability to produce sound welds according to specified standards and pass various tests (visual, PT, RT, bend, tensile, hardness, metallography, charpy).
• Must pass a vision examination and undergo welder workmanship training and certification.
• Ability to read and retain work instructions specific to the weld program.
