Job summary

Signature Aviation is seeking a GSE Mechanic to inspect, repair, and maintain ground support equipment at our Alabama locations. The role requires problem solving, tool proficiency, and adherence to safety guidelines; you will work with various systems and document inspections.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and keeping logs. Must have a High School diploma or GED with related experience, own tools, valid driver's license, and be eligible to work in the United

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED plus one year experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be able to pass background checks, drug tests, and obtain an airport security badge.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Prior GSE or heavy equipment experience preferred.
• Must have own tools and a valid driver's license.
• Vocational certification or apprenticeship is a plus.
• ASE certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and maintain ground support equipment (GSE) used in operations.
• Troubleshoot, repair and overhaul GSE.
• Check and service GSE with fuel, water, oil and hydraulic fluid.
• Diagnose problems using test equipment and manuals.
• Build and assemble machinery or components as required.
• Inspect machines, engines and transmissions and run tests.
• Perform repairs to maximize reliability.
• Maintain thorough maintenance and lubrication of machinery.
• Record work logs and report issues; complete GSE paperwork.
