Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Ground Support Equipment Mechanic to diagnose, repair and service GSE at the MCAS Cherry Point, NC site. Responsibilities include inspecting equipment, performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, and maintaining accurate records to support aircraft operations.

The role requires at least four years of GSE experience, a high school diploma or GED, fluent English, and US citizenship for credentials.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship required for facility credentials/authorization.
• High school diploma or GED (or equivalent) required.
• Must be able to speak, read and understand English.
• At least four (4) years of experience in inspection, maintenance, repair and modification of powered ground support equipment.
• Must meet physical requirements and be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to obtain CAC and pass background checks.
• Must have a valid U.S. driver’s license.
• Must be able to possess and maintain a minimum tool listing within 30 days of hire.
• Negative pre-employment drug screening required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose malfunctions and repair Ground Support Equipment (GSE).
• Inspect, maintain, and service GSE to ensure serviceability and proper operation.
• Disassemble and reassemble GSE accessories and components as needed.
• Prepare GSE for storage and mobility deployment; provide dispatch support for GSE.
• Ensure safety, tool control, and regulatory compliance at all times.
