Job summary

AES GSE is seeking a skilled GSE Mechanic in Anchorage, Alaska. You will diagnose and repair a range of ground support equipment, perform preventative maintenance, and document work using MIS while adhering to OSHA and EPA standards.

Ideal candidates have 1–4 years in mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or HVAC systems, with a background in diesel/heavy equipment repair. Must supply own hand tools and be eligible to work in the U.S.

Qualifications

• 1-4 years’ experience in mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or HVAC systems.
• Diesel, automotive, or heavy equipment repair background.
• Must provide own hand tools.
• Must be 18+, eligible to work in the U.S., and possess a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and HVAC systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections.
• Use Maintenance Information Systems (MIS) to document all repairs.
• Follow safety and regulatory standards (OSHA, EPA).
• Participate in continuous improvement and training opportunities.

ADDITIONAL INCENTIVES

AS A GSE MECHANIC

You’ll maintain and repair various ground support equipment (GSE), including tow tractors, belt loaders, pushback tractors, deicers, and more. You’ll troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and HVAC systems and ensure proper documentation, safety, and quality standards are met.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and HVAC systems
• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections

• Strong troubleshooting skills and computer proficiency
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in all weather conditions
• Must provide own hand tools
• Must be 18+, eligible to work in the U.S., and possess a valid driver’s license
• Team player with the ability to work independently

NICE TO HAVE CERTIFICATIONS

• Med/Heavy Truck or Light TruckAutomotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification preferred.
