Job summary

PrimeFlight Aviation Services in Romulus, Michigan, seeks a GSE Mechanic Supervisor to oversee daily operations and maintenance of ground support equipment. You will manage a team of technicians, coordinate schedules, ensure equipment is safe and compliant, and support airport operations.

This role requires at least 2 years of supervising experience in aviation, strong mechanical knowledge, leadership, and fluency in English.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• Eligible to work in the United States.
• Must have a valid state-issued driver’s license with an acceptable drivingrecord.
• Communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking).
• 2 years of experience in supervising teams in an operational or maintenanceenvironment, preferably in aviation.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems and maintenance procedures.
• Excellent leadership, organization, and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Ability to access and interpret information in print and electronically,including the use of electronic devices including IPads/Tablets, Computers,and Mobile Devices
• Pass a background check and drug screen
• Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, PortAuthority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)
• Airports are 24/7, so we need our team members to be flexible to work variousshifts including nights, weekends and holidays

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the ground support equipment department.
• Lead and manage a team of ground support staff and technicians.
• Coordinate and schedule maintenance and repair activities for ground supportequipment.
• Ensure adherence to safety regulations and company policies among teammembers.
• Conduct regular inspections of equipment to maintain operational standardsand safety.
• Train new staff in operational procedures and safety protocols.
• Monitor the performance of team members and provide feedback and coaching.
• Manage inventory of parts and supplies, ensuring availability for maintenancetasks.
• Collaborate with other airport departments to ensure coordinated supportservices.
• Respond to operational issues and emergencies, implementing effectivesolutions.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, employee performance,and inventory levels.
• Participate in budgeting and cost-control activities for the department.
• Communicate effectively with team members, management, and externalstakeholders.
• Stay updated on industry best practices and innovations in ground supportoperations.
• Foster a team-oriented environment that emphasizes quality service andcontinuous improvement.
• Exemplify PrimeFlight customer service and safety standards.
• Perform any additional duties as assigned by management
