Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Growth Strategist based in India.

Join a fast-growing, customer-focused business where strategic marketing and personalized customer experiences play a central role in driving sustainable growth. As a Growth Strategist, you will shape how customers engage with the business throughout their journey, from their first purchase to long-term loyalty and expansion. You will combine customer insights, behavioral data, creative messaging, and marketing technology to develop programs that increase engagement, conversion, retention, and revenue. Working across email, SMS, automated journeys, and personalized outreach, you will create experiences tailored to different customer needs and growth potential. This hands‑on role offers the opportunity to move beyond individual campaigns and build scalable systems that continuously improve customer relationships. Collaborating with Sales, Marketing, Creative, Data, Technology, and Operations, you will turn strategic ideas into measurable business outcomes. If you thrive in an autonomous, fast‑paced environment and enjoy combining analytical thinking with creative execution, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact.

Accountabilities
  • Understand customer behavior and identify growth opportunities: Analyze customer motivations, purchasing patterns, engagement levels, and lifecycle stages to uncover opportunities to improve conversion, retention, repeat purchases, and long-term customer value.
  • Develop customer segmentation strategies: Create meaningful customer segments based on behavior, purchase history, lifecycle stage, business value, and growth potential to ensure customers receive relevant and personalized experiences.
  • Design end-to-end customer journeys: Own the customer experience from initial interaction and onboarding through first purchase, post-purchase engagement, repeat purchases, reactivation, and long-term loyalty.
  • Lead lifecycle marketing initiatives: Develop and execute integrated customer communication strategies across email, SMS, automated journeys, promotional campaigns, and targeted outreach.
  • Personalize high-value customer experiences: Design tailored engagement programs for strategically important customers, including exclusive offers, gifting initiatives, personalized campaigns, and coordinated outreach with account-facing teams.
  • Create compelling marketing content: Write persuasive subject lines, email copy, SMS messages, promotional concepts, and personalized pitches that encourage customer engagement and drive meaningful action.
  • Drive measurable growth outcomes: Take ownership of marketing initiatives from opportunity identification and strategy development through execution, performance monitoring, and optimization.
  • Implement experimentation and optimization: Develop a structured testing approach for messaging, timing, offers, audience selection, and customer journeys, using results to improve campaign effectiveness and commercial performance.
  • Measure and analyze performance: Monitor key metrics such as engagement, conversion, retention, repeat purchase rates, revenue, and customer lifetime value to understand performance and guide strategic decisions.
  • Leverage technology and automation: Use marketing platforms, customer data, automation tools, and AI-powered solutions to build efficient, scalable programs that become more effective over time.
  • Maintain operational excellence: Ensure the accuracy and quality of customer communications through effective segmentation, deliverability management, list health monitoring, testing, and quality control.
  • Build scalable growth systems: Develop repeatable processes, playbooks, and automated workflows that reduce manual effort and enable successful customer engagement programs to scale.
  • Collaborate across teams: Partner with Sales, Marketing, Creative, Data, Technology, and Operations to translate customer insights into coordinated initiatives and improve the overall customer experience.
  • Influence strategic decisions: Identify priorities, recommend experiments, challenge existing approaches, build business cases for new initiatives, and align stakeholders to deliver improvements across the customer lifecycle.
Requirements
  • Relevant professional experience: At least 3 years of experience in growth marketing, lifecycle marketing, customer relationship management (CRM), retention marketing, customer growth, or a related field.
  • End-to-end marketing ownership: Demonstrated ability to manage initiatives from identifying opportunities and defining strategies to executing campaigns, analyzing performance, and implementing improvements.
  • Strong marketing and copywriting skills: Excellent marketing instincts and the ability to create compelling messaging, campaigns, and customer experiences that motivate audiences and generate measurable results.
  • Customer segmentation and lifecycle expertise: Experience developing customer segments, interpreting behavioral data, and designing lifecycle journeys tailored to different customer needs and stages.
  • Analytical and commercial mindset: Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to understand customer behavior, evaluate marketing effectiveness, identify opportunities, and make commercially sound decisions.
  • Demonstrated growth impact: Experience improving customer engagement, conversion rates, repeat purchases, retention, or revenue through strategic marketing initiatives.
  • Customer-centric thinking: Curiosity about customer motivations and preferences, with the ability to challenge assumptions, investigate behavior, and translate insights into relevant customer experiences.
  • Strategic and hands-on execution: Comfort developing high-level growth strategies while also writing content, building automated journeys, launching experiments, and troubleshooting operational issues.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Ability to communicate clearly, influence stakeholders, coordinate projects across teams, and drive initiatives forward without relying on formal authority.
  • Ownership and adaptability: Strong organizational skills, independent judgment, and the ability to prioritize effectively, maintain high-quality execution, and navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.
  • Systems-oriented problem-solving: A proactive approach to building repeatable processes and scalable solutions rather than relying exclusively on short-term campaigns.
  • Preferred industry experience: Background in business-to-consumer (B2C), direct-to-consumer (DTC), e-commerce, or other businesses with recurring purchasing behavior is strongly preferred.
  • Additional relevant experience: Familiarity with SMS marketing, account-based marketing, loyalty programs, or personalized engagement strategies for high-value customers is an advantage.
  • Technology and innovation: Interest in using marketing technology, automation, customer data, and AI tools to improve productivity, personalization, and growth performance.

The ideal candidate combines creative marketing ability with strategic thinking, commercial awareness, and a strong sense of ownership. You should be comfortable identifying opportunities independently, questioning existing practices, and turning new ideas into practical initiatives that strengthen customer relationships and deliver sustainable business growth.

Benefits
  • Remote work flexibility: Work from home in a remote-friendly environment, offering flexibility in how you organize your work.
  • Competitive compensation: Receive a competitive annual salary aligned with the role and relevant experience.
  • Learning and development: Access opportunities to build new skills, expand your marketing expertise, and support your long-term professional growth.
  • Supportive workplace culture: Join a collaborative environment that encourages ownership, creativity, continuous improvement, and meaningful contributions.
  • Paid sabbatical: Eligible employees can benefit from a two-month paid sabbatical in recognition of their long-term contributions.
  • Career development opportunities: Gain exposure to strategic growth initiatives, customer analytics, marketing automation, and cross-functional business operations.
  • Inclusive work environment: Work within an organization that promotes equal employment opportunities and welcomes applicants from diverse backgrounds, including people of different ages, LGBTQ+ individuals, and people with disabilities.
