Job description

GROWTH STRATEGIST

At Fresh Prints, we work with thousands of customers, but not every customer should have the same experience with us.

Some might be ordering for the first time. Others have been buying from us for years. Some need an occasional reminder or a well-timed offer, while others represent significant opportunities that deserve a much more personalized approach.

Today, we reach these customers through emails, SMS, automated journeys, promotional campaigns, gifting programs, and direct outreach. We've built much of the infrastructure to make these things possible, but there's a much bigger opportunity ahead of us: bringing all of these touchpoints together into a thoughtful, cohesive strategy for how we grow our customer relationships.

That's what we're hiring a Growth Strategist to do.

Your job is to understand our customers, figure out what they need at different stages of their relationship with Fresh Prints, and build experiences that make them want to engage, purchase, return, and grow with us.

For some customers, that might mean a great email at exactly the right moment. For others, it might mean an entirely different experience, with personalized outreach, exclusive offers, samples, or programs designed around their long-term potential.

We don't want someone who thinks about growth as a collection of campaigns or channels. We want someone who can see the bigger picture, identify where the opportunities are, and turn those opportunities into programs that drive meaningful business results.

This isn't a role where you inherit a finished playbook. You'll have the freedom, and responsibility, to question how we do things today, build better systems, and shape what customer growth looks like at Fresh Prints.

This role is about:
  • Understanding our customers deeply: Who they are, what they care about, why they buy, what brings them back, and what makes them disengage.
  • Designing the right experience for different customers: Knowing when automation and great content are enough, and when a relationship deserves a more personalized, high-touch approach.
  • Finding opportunities to grow customer value: Identifying where we're losing customers, leaving revenue on the table, or missing opportunities to build stronger relationships.
  • Being a great marketer: Understanding what makes someone open an email, click a link, respond to an offer, or take the next step, and being able to create that experience yourself.
  • Turning ideas into execution: Building programs, writing compelling content, coordinating teams, testing approaches, and taking ownership of the results.
  • Building systems that scale: Using data, technology, AI, and automation to create experiences that become smarter and more effective over time.
What You'll Own
Understanding Customers & Finding Growth Opportunities
  • Develop a deep understanding of Fresh Prints' customers, their buying behavior, motivations, needs, and decision-making journeys.
  • Use customer insights, data, and commercial judgment to identify the biggest opportunities to improve engagement, conversion, repeat purchases, retention, and customer value.
  • Build meaningful customer segments based on behavior, lifecycle stage, value, and growth potential, rather than treating everyone on our list the same way.
  • Identify where different customers need different experiences, and determine where we should invest more time, effort, and resources.
  • Continuously question our existing approach and develop new ideas that could materially change how customers engage and grow with Fresh Prints.
Building Experiences That Drive Growth
  • Own how Fresh Prints engages with customers throughout their relationship with us, from their first interaction to becoming loyal, repeat customers.
  • Develop thoughtful customer journeys that bring together content, communication, offers, personalization, and outreach to move customers toward the next meaningful action.
  • Own the strategy, messaging, and execution of customer communications across email, SMS, automated journeys, and promotional programs.
  • Build experiences around key customer moments, including onboarding, first purchases, post-purchase engagement, repeat purchases, reactivation, and win-back.
  • Develop more personalized approaches for our highest-value customers, including targeted campaigns, gifting, exclusive programs, and coordinated outreach with account-facing teams.
  • Create compelling content that customers actually want to engage with, from subject lines and SMS messages to promotional concepts and personalized pitches.
  • Work closely with Brand and Creative to make sure everything we put in front of customers feels relevant, engaging, and distinctly Fresh Prints.
Turning Strategy Into Results
  • Take ideas from insight to execution. You'll be expected to develop the strategy, build the plan, and make sure it actually happens.
  • Own performance across the experiences and programs you build, using engagement, conversion, retention, repeat purchase behavior, revenue, and customer value to measure success.
  • Develop a disciplined approach to experimentation, constantly testing messaging, offers, timing, audience selection, and customer experiences.
  • Look beyond surface-level metrics to understand what’s actually driving performance and what needs to change.
  • Use our marketing technology, customer data, automation platforms, and AI tools to build and improve programs efficiently.
  • Maintain strong execution standards across customer communications, including segmentation accuracy, deliverability, list health, testing, and quality control.
  • Build processes, playbooks, and systems that allow successful programs to scale without requiring constant manual intervention.
Making Growth a Company-Wide Effort
  • Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Creative, Data, Tech, and Operations to turn customer insights and growth opportunities into coordinated action.
  • Influence how different teams engage with customers when changes are needed to improve retention, expansion, or the overall customer experience.
  • Bring a clear point of view on where we should focus, what we should test, and what we should stop doing.
  • Make the business case for new initiatives, align stakeholders, and drive execution even when the people involved don't report to you.
  • Help build a more connected approach to customer growth, where every interaction contributes to a stronger long-term relationship.
Who You Are
  • You're a marketer first. You understand people, what motivates them, and how to turn that understanding into messaging and experiences that drive action. You can write a great subject line as comfortably as you can design a customer growth strategy.
  • You think in customer journeys, not marketing channels. You don't see email, SMS, or account-based programs as separate worlds. You see different ways to engage different customers based on what they need and what they're worth to the business.
  • You're commercially minded. You understand that engagement is a means to an end. You're constantly thinking about how your work influences purchases, retention, revenue, and long-term customer value.
  • You're both strategic and hands-on. You enjoy figuring out the big picture, but you're equally comfortable rolling up your sleeves to write the copy, build a journey, launch a test, or troubleshoot a problem.
  • You're curious about customers. You don't assume you know what people want. You ask questions, study behavior, challenge assumptions, and use what you learn to build better experiences.
  • You think in systems. Rather than solving the same problem every month with another campaign, you look for ways to build something that will keep working and improving.
  • You're strong ownership. You don't need someone else to constantly set priorities or check the quality of your work. You hold yourself accountable for both the thinking and the execution.
  • You're comfortable with ambiguity. You don't need a detailed playbook to get started. You can take an unclear opportunity, develop a strong point of view, and create a path forward.
  • You're aware of bringing people along. You can challenge ideas, communicate clearly, and work across teams to get things done without relying on formal authority.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in growth marketing, lifecycle marketing, CRM, retention, customer growth, or a related role.
  • Demonstrated experience owning marketing initiatives end-to-end, from identifying opportunities and developing strategy to execution and performance analysis.
  • Strong marketing instincts and writing ability, with experience creating messaging, campaigns, or customer experiences that drive measurable action.
  • Experience working with customer segmentation, behavioral data, and lifecycle journeys.
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort using data to understand customer behavior, evaluate performance, and make decisions.
  • Experience improving conversion, customer engagement, repeat purchases, retention, or revenue through marketing initiatives.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and independently drive projects from concept to completion.
  • Experience with SMS, account-based marketing, loyalty programs, or high-value customer engagement is a plus.
  • Experience in B2C, DTC, e-commerce, or businesses with repeat-purchase behavior is strongly preferred.

Above all, we're looking for someone who combines great marketing instincts with strong strategic thinking and the ability to execute. Someone who can look at how we engage with customers today, see what we could be doing better, and take ownership of making it happen.
