Job summary

OpenAI seeks a Data Engineering Manager for Growth & Revenue at our San Francisco headquarters. You will lead the Growth & Revenue data engineering team, own the data strategy across growth accounting, product partnerships, checkout, billing, payments, revenue, and monetization, and partner with Data Science, Business, and Engineering to connect product behavior to subscriber revenue measurement.

You will partner with Finance and Financial Engineering to ensure analytical revenue views reconcile

Qualifications

• Deep experience leading data engineering teams in a fast-moving product/tech environment.
• Strong technical judgment across modern data systems.
• Built data products for growth, lifecycle, attribution, subscription, billing, revenue, or monetization.

Responsibilities

• Build, manage, and grow a high-performing Growth & Revenue data team.
• Define data strategy for Growth & Revenue domains.
• Deliver durable data products linking product behavior, checkout events, payment outcomes, and revenue.
• Establish trusted metric definitions and data quality standards for fast decision-making.
• Partner with Data Science, Product, Finance, and Engineering on experiments and scalable analytics.
• Ensure analytical revenue views reconcile with production billing systems.
• Raise operational excellence for pipelines (reliability, observability, privacy, governance).
• Set roadmaps, tradeoffs, and communicate progress across stakeholders.
