Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a Head of Data Science, Strategic Finance in San Francisco to partner with the Strategic Finance team, Product, and GTM Data Science to drive data-driven decisions and financial outcomes. You will report to the VP of Strategic Finance and mentor a high-performing team.

This role focuses on forecasting, model development, dashboards, and automation across revenue segments, with relocation assistance and a hybrid work model (3 days in office).

Qualifications

• MS/PhD in a quantitative discipline (Math, Statistics, OR, Economics, Engineering, or CS).
• 12+ years of experience in a Data Science role in a dynamic organization.
• Proficiency with SQL and Python for data modeling and analysis.
• Experience building production-ready time-series forecasting models.

Responsibilities

• Develop accurate forecasts for product usage and revenue; track metrics and drivers.
• Own expert knowledge of OpenAI data and systems in partnership with other teams.
• Design and deliver dashboards influencing financial performance.
• Lead metrics reviews and surface actionable insights for leadership.
