Job summary

Samsara is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to own the CI/CD foundation for growth and AI‑assisted development. You will build a secure, scalable foundation across AWS, IAM, and multi‑account setups while enabling self‑service tooling for rapid engineering velocity.

Candidate will design pipelines, migrate resources to code, and implement robust observability with centralized logging, metrics, and alerts. A strong emphasis on security and reliability guides every decision.

Qualifications

• Hands-on AWS production experience and multi‑account setup with IaC (Terraform, AWS CDK, CloudFormation).
• Designed and operated CI/CD pipelines with automated testing, security gates, and reliable rollbacks.
• Strong Python development and familiarity with JavaScript stacks and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Experience building observability: centralized logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting.
• Knowledge of cloud security posture management and automated security scanning.
• Experience shipping customer‑facing features and product work alongside platform teams.

Responsibilities

• Own the CI/CD foundation for AI‑assisted development with gated releases and tests.
• Build scalable, secure infrastructure using IaC and multi‑account separation.
• Centralize logging/monitoring across AWS, enabling rapid rollback of bad deployments.
• Lead security engineering: automating scans, secrets management, and access control.
• Migrate resources to IaC, set up DR/backup with clear RTO/RPO targets.
• Develop paved-path tooling for self‑service use and blue/green/canary releases.
• Build and operate AI‑assisted SRE tooling for automated alert triage and incident response.
• Contribute to backend services and customer‑facing product features alongside the platform.
