Job summary

CFS in the Chillicothe, Ohio area is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its accounting team. You will gain exposure to month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and general ledger accounting in a stable, collaborative environment.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting with 2+ years of experience, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with ERP systems. Base salary ranges from $70,000 to $80,000, with comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
• 2+ years of accounting experience preferred
• Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles
• Experience with account reconciliations, financial reporting, and month-end close
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• ERP system experience preferred
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• CPA pursuit or certification is a plus

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries
• Perform monthly account reconciliations and balance sheet analyses
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
• Support financial statement preparation and reporting activities
• Analyze variances and investigate discrepancies
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed
• Participate in audit preparation and ensure compliance with accounting policies
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
