Job summary

Dollar General in Milwaukee seeks an Assistant Store Manager to help run a clean, customer-focused store. Under the Store Manager, you will supervise staff, oversee merchandise presentation, deposits, and store paperwork while protecting assets.

This role requires leadership, cash handling, planogram execution, and the ability to open/close the store, train employees, and maintain stock levels. You will support daily operations to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year retail experience and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and cash handling skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; operate cash register and scanner.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist in scheduling and training employees, and conduct safety meetings.
• Manage merchandise receiving, stocking, restocking, displays and planograms.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels and cash controls; handle deposits.
• Support store operations in the Store Manager's absence.
