Job summary

AXA XL, the P&C and specialty risk division of AXA, is seeking a Middle Market Actuarial Pricing Analyst to partner with underwriting and actuarial teams to drive profitability and growth across the North America Middle Market portfolio.

You will develop pricing models, conduct analyses of individual accounts and portfolios, and deliver recommendations that influence renewal decisions and strategic pricing initiatives while advancing your CAS credential and professional development.

Qualifications

• Moderate actuarial, insurance, data analytics experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, Mathematics, Applied Math, Statistics, or related quantitative field.
• Progress toward CAS credentialing with a demonstrated commitment to professional development.
• Experience using Python, R, SQL to analyze data, automate processes, and develop insights.
• Robust analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Collaborative team player with outstanding organizational and time management abilities.
• Intellectual curiosity, initiative and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
• Attention to detail and a focus on producing high-quality work with integrity.

Responsibilities

• Support pricing strategy development alongside underwriting and actuarial leaders to drive profitable growth across AXA XL’s Middle Market portfolio
• Deliver actuarial analyses and pricing recommendations for individual accounts, portfolio management, and business planning decisions
• Monitor portfolio performance, rate adequacy, pricing effectiveness, and profitability trends to identify opportunities and emerging risks
• Analyze business results across industries, geographies, and customer segments to support underwriting strategy, growth initiatives, and renewal actions
• Developing, enhancing, and maintaining pricing models, rating tools, and segmentation approaches that improve pricing accuracy and business outcomes
• Performing loss, claims, trend, and competitive market analyses to generate actionable insights and support pricing decisions
