Job summary

FMI's Training Institute seeks a Director of Business Growth & Operations to own and scale the performance of the Project Manager Academy (PMA) and Construction Business Academy (CBA). This role will drive revenue growth, profitability, forecasting, and business development, operating each program as a distinct business unit.

The successful candidate will build and lead a team, partner with facilitators, and bring programs to market—potentially facilitating personally as capacity allows.

Qualifications

• Experience owning or operating a P&L, business unit, or revenue-generating program.
• 7+ years building, scaling, or operating a business or program with direct team leadership and growth accountability.
• Proven experience managing complex programs or business units with multiple stakeholders.
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and driving revenue or margin growth.
• Experience leading business development, including pipeline management, proposals, and enrollment/sales targets.
• Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, education, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Experience in the built environment or related industries.
• Facilitation, coaching, or leadership development experience is a plus.
• Proven ability to coach and develop direct reports and invest in their growth.
• Strong strategic thinking, problem solving, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Salesforce, NetSuite, and Cvent.
• Ability to operate in dynamic, fast-paced, ambiguous environments with minimal direction.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end program performance across assigned offerings, with revenue growth, profitability, and continuous improvement.
• Manage programs’ financial performance: forecasting, budgeting, pricing, and margins.
• Lead business development: client discovery, proposals, pricing, and enrollment targets.
• Set growth strategy and roadmap for expanding into new offerings.
• Build and lead a high-performing Operations team and cross-functional partners.
• Foster feedback and coaching, developing direct reports and addressing gaps.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Consulting, and Operations to drive visibility and demand.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, scalability, and program impact.
• Own the end-to-end client experience and long-term relationships.
• Work with facilitators to ensure content aligns with market needs.
