Job summary

Dollar Tree, Inc. in Red Oak, IA is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development.

You will assist with day-to-day store activities, help customers, organize merchandise, and participate in opening and closing procedures. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, prior store experience is preferred, and you must be able to lift up to 55 lbs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred and reading/comprehension of directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks including walking, standing, climbing, and bending.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas
• Perform opening and closing procedures
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities
• Maintain promotional displays and store-front fixtures
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling
• Maintain a well-stocked and organized store area and stockroom according to company standards
• Protect and secure all company assets including store cash
• Adhere to safety guidelines and company policies
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff
• Ensure store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, trash and overall neatness
• Other duties as assigned
