Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to oversee daily store operations, customer service, and team development in Red Oak, TX. You will assist with merchandise handling, openings/closings, and adherence to company directives while maintaining clean, organized floors and stockrooms.

The role requires strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and related communications for store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of storefront fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (including payroll, scheduling, and cash handling).
• Maintain clean, organized store areas and secure store assets.
• Support Store Manager in supervising, training, and developing Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers, associates, and leaders.
• Keep bathrooms and store areas clean and presentable.
• Other duties as assigned.
