Job summary

Blacksmith Agency LLC is seeking a Head of Growth Marketing to lead the PPC and SEO practice. You will guide strategy, own budget allocation, and supervise the strategists who execute campaigns. This is a management seat, not a senior IC role, with client-facing ownership and accountability for outcomes.

You will define channel strategy, set quality standards, and shape the hiring plan for the department, interviewing candidates in early stages. The role is remote for USA/Canada/South Africa.

Qualifications

• 7+ years across paid media and SEO. Owning one channel while sitting beside the other does not count here.
• Depth in Google Ads, GA4, Search Console, Meta and Microsoft Ads to tell good work from work that merely looks good.
• One account you turned around with clear metrics and outcomes; who touched the keyboard matters less than the diagnosis.
• Comfortable being the client-facing owner when an account is underperforming; you own the escalation.
• Agency experience carrying many accounts at once.

Responsibilities

• Own channel strategy for PPC and SEO and decide budget allocation as accounts scale.
• Lead, review, and develop the PPC and SEO strategists and hold them to quality standards.
• Ensure client reporting is accurate and trustworthy, with clear attribution considerations.
• Be the primary client-facing owner for underperforming accounts and drive fixes.
• Lead hiring plans for the department and conduct first-round interviews.
• Define and uphold the department's standard audits, reports, and execution quality.
