Blacksmith Agency seeks a Head of Performance Marketing to lead PPC and SEO for clients across multifamily, B2B and technical verticals. The PPC strategist and the SEO strategist report to you, and you own the function.

You will set reporting standards, audit quality, drive client results, manage escalation when accounts underperform, plan the channel budget as accounts scale, and begin hiring for the department within a quarter. This remote role supports teams in the US, Canada or South Africa.

Qualifications

• 7+ years across paid media and SEO.
• Ownership of one channel while coordinating with the other.
• Depth in Google Ads, GA4, Search Console, Meta and Microsoft Ads.
• Turnaround example with measurable metrics.
• Client-facing owner when accounts underperform.
• Agency experience handling multiple accounts.

Responsibilities

• Lead the PPC and SEO strategists and set quality standards.
• Own audits, reporting, and overall performance narrative for clients.
• Drive channel strategy and budgeting as accounts scale.
• Direct escalation and client calls when issues arise.
• Partner with sales on credible delivery promises.
• Oversee department hiring and first-round interviews.
