Job summary

Blacksmith Agency seeks a Head of Growth Marketing to lead the PPC and SEO function for clients across multifamily, B2B, and technical verticals. This is a management seat; you’ll set strategy and own department delivery, while strategists handle execution.

You will lead channel strategy, oversee audits and reporting, and drive client-facing success. 7+ years in paid media and SEO, plus agency leadership, are required.

Qualifications

• 7+ years across paid media and SEO. Owning one channel while sitting beside the other does not count here.
• Depth in Google Ads, GA4, Search Console, Meta and Microsoft Ads to tell good work from looks.
• One turnaround you can discuss: the metric, before/after figures, and why it changed.
• Comfortable being the client-facing owner when an account is underperforming.
• Agency experience carrying many accounts at once.

Responsibilities

• Own the PPC and SEO strategy and ensure budgets align with growth goals.
• Define quality bars, development plans, and reviews for the PPC and SEO strategists.
• Ensure honest, actionable reporting and GA4 accuracy across clients.
• Lead client communications and escalation when accounts are at risk, directing the strategists accordingly.
• Set the channel strategy and budget allocation as accounts scale.
• Articulate what the agency can credibly deliver to sales before it is sold.
• Plan hiring for the department and conduct first-round interviews within a quarter.
