Job summary

Punchbowl News is seeking a Senior Marketing Associate to support growth and engagement across our products and channels. You will work cross-functionally, use data to inform strategies, and help with audience design and creative campaigns.

Ideal candidates have some subscriber-focused experience and comfort with marketing across multiple platforms. The role is based in Washington, DC, with on-site attendance Monday through Thursday and remote work on Fridays.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of relevant experience (newsroom experience a plus).
• Experience using an email service provider or CRM for emails and list creation; HubSpot is a bonus.
• Experience with organic or paid social media advertising is a plus.
• Strong copywriting skills and ability to engage in marketing speak authentically.
• Interest in data and using it to inform decisions.

Responsibilities

• Support campaigns that convert free subscribers into paid members.
• Help build messaging and audience segmentation plans for editorial products.
• Contribute ideas for marketing activations tied to events and partnerships.
• Produce collateral for the sales team, including one-pagers, testimonials, case studies, and decks.
• Support social media strategy to grow subscriptions and engagement.
• Draft the monthly marketing newsletter for the Portal and promote key updates.
• Write copy for promotions in newsletters and manage lead qualification for initiatives.
• Assist with email campaigns to capture data and convert subscribers.
