Job summary

Watchmaker Genomics, Inc. is seeking a Process Development Scientist I in Boulder, CO for an onsite role with occasional work-from-home flexibility.

You will design and optimize manufacturing-ready processes for molecular biology products and serve as technical lead on transfers and validations. The candidate should have a BS/BA with 8 years, MS with 6 years, or PhD (no industry experience) and join a fast-paced biotech team focused on scale-up and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to design, execute, and interpret experiments with scientific rigor.
• Hands-on molecular biology techniques (PCR, qPCR, etc.).
• Experience designing processes in manufacturing or regulated environments.
• Strong problem-solving and data-driven decision making.
• Ability to translate data into technical recommendations.
• Excellent documentation and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute formulation and process development studies, including DOE.
• Analyze data, draw conclusions, and advise project teams.
• Define critical process parameters and specifications.
• Lead translation of lab processes to manufacturing-ready workflows.
• Own design transfer and planning for manufacturing.
• Plan and execute validation activities with QA/Validation.
• Lead root cause investigations and drive NCR/CAPA actions.
• Provide technical guidance and training to junior staff.
