Job summary

ECS Group of Companies seeks a Business Development Manager to drive growth through client engagement, lead generation, market intelligence, and strategic planning. You will collaborate with technical and operations leaders to identify opportunities and expand relationships.

You will mentor junior staff, coordinate marketing efforts, and help prioritize tasks while developing plans and budgets for growth initiatives. This role emphasizes teamwork and client interaction.

Qualifications

• 4 years of related experience with a degree or 8 years of related experience without a degree.
• BS in Business Administration, Marketing, or similar, preferred.
• Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Excellent oral & written communication skills.
• Dependable, self-motivated, responsible and detail-oriented.
• Ability to work effectively in teams, with clients, peers and subordinates, as well as independently.
• Strong leadership and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Identifies and researches leads for new work and proposal leads, lunch and learns, and other business development tasks.
• Assists junior staff with resolution of issues.
• Uses ECS systems in the coordination of business development tasks.
• Coordinates internal communications with staff members on a variety of business development tasks.
• Mentors junior staff and supports the overall development of the team.
• Assists with the coordination of business development meetings and connects clients to staff.
• Develops business development strategic plans and budgets.
• Identifies, tracks, and coordinates conference, industry, and award opportunities.
• Consults with your supervisor to help prioritize tasks weekly.
• Supplies content and coordinates for email, social media, marketing campaigns, website, and industry conferences.
• Performs market research to understand the markets and industries we serve.
• Maintains and updates databases, generates leads, and follows up with clients.
• Additional responsibilities may include managing and/or mentoring business development team members.
• Attends and participates in professional associations and networking groups.
• Assists with coaching engineering staff on successful client interaction and business development strategies.
