Job summary

Progressive Safety Management is seeking a Business Development Coordinator to help research target companies, identify decision makers, and conduct approved outreach. Qualifications

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, follow up activities, and ongoing prospecting responsibilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with executives, managers, clients, prospective clients, and internal team members.
  • Strong research skills and comfort using online resources to identify companies, projects, decision makers, and business opportunities.
  • Ability and willingness to conduct professional business development outreach by email and telephone.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate prospect, contact, activity, and opportunity information.
  • Ability to learn and effectively use CRM systems and other business software.
  • Ability to work independently while following established priorities, processes, and expectations.
  • Ability to consistently complete assigned responsibilities and follow up commitments.
  • Sound judgment and willingness to ask questions when additional information or clarification is needed.
  • Ability to learn Progressive Safety Management’s services and communicate their value to prospective clients.
  • Comfortable working in a performance driven environment with measurable activity, meeting, opportunity, and client development goals.
  • Ability to receive coaching, apply feedback, and continuously improve performance.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a continuous and prioritized supply of target companies, projects, and decision maker contacts.
  • Research target companies, active and upcoming projects, contract awards, market conditions, and potential buying opportunities.
  • Build, validate, prioritize, and maintain prospect lists aligned with approved business development initiatives.
  • Identify appropriate executives, operations leaders, project leaders, safety professionals, estimators, procurement contacts, and other decision makers.
  • Execute approved email, telephone, referral, and other outreach activities.
  • Personalize outreach based on the prospect, company, project, need, or identified business opportunity.
  • Maintain consistent follow up with prospective clients and ensure interested contacts receive timely responses.
  • Identify and elevate urgent staffing needs, active buying signals, referral opportunities, and high value prospects.
  • Collect initial information regarding company fit, business needs, timing, decision authority, potential value, and appropriate next steps.
  • Prepare concise opportunity information for discovery calls, technical meetings, and leadership review.
  • Coordinate meetings and internal participation for qualified opportunities.
  • Maintain complete, current, and reliable CRM information as the operational source of truth for business development activity.
  • Monitor overdue activities, stale opportunities, missing information, and incomplete follow up.
  • Help leadership act quickly by organizing opportunity information, meetings, follow up activities, and next steps.
  • Prepare weekly business development reporting covering outreach activity, responses, meetings, qualified opportunities, pipeline movement, bottlenecks, and decisions needed.
  • Support proposal preparation and follow up by organizing information, deadlines, documents, and internal inputs.
  • Help opportunities move effectively from initial interest through qualification, sales, closing, and operational handoff.
  • Develop sufficient market, service, and qualification knowledge to assume increasing responsibility as the business development program grows.
