Job summary

Dollar Tree in Haslett, MI is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with day-to-day activities, organize merchandise, and help maintain clean, organized spaces while ensuring safety and policy adherence.

The role requires strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills, with prior store management experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred and ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling
• Maintain clean and well-stocked store areas
• Protect store assets and cash
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines
• Assist Store Manager in training and developing Store Associates
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff
• Keep the store clean, restocked bathrooms, floors swept/mopped, and areas neat
• Other duties as assigned*
