Job summary

Gray Residential is seeking an Accounting Manager to strengthen the accounting team as the multifamily portfolio grows. You will work with the Controller to ensure a smooth month-end close, robust reporting, and standardized processes across properties.

You will help improve controls, analytics, and automation, including AI-enabled tools, while supporting budgeting, forecasting, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or related field.
• CPA preferred.
• Public accounting experience preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, real estate or multifamily property accounting strongly preferred.
• Experience with RealPage or similar property management accounting software.
• Strong understanding of month-end close, financial reporting, and reconciliations.
• Analytical mindset with ability to translate data into insights.
• Proactive, solutions-oriented approach; capable of proposing process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Support the Controller in timely, accurate month-end and year-end close across properties and entities.
• Assist in preparing and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Assist with monthly financial reporting package preparation, analysis and distribution.
• Standardize and improve accounting processes and procedures as portfolio grows.
• Oversee AP and credit card programs with Controller and AP Coordinator/Specialist.
• Build and maintain KPI reporting for leadership visibility.
• Assist with corporate financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
• Assist with integration of new property acquisitions into systems.
• Evaluate and implement technology and automation to reduce manual work.
• Develop and improve accounting procedures, internal controls, and SOPs.
• Support ERP enhancements, reporting improvements, and automation.
• Support Treasury, tax filings, regulatory compliance.
