Job summary

Progressive Leasing is hiring a Manager, Accounting to lead day-to-day close operations and build our accounting team as a public company. You will own the US GAAP close, mentor staff, and drive SOX compliance and AI-driven improvements.

Reporting to the Controller, you will partner with FP&A, Treasury, Tax, and Operations to ensure accurate financial reporting and timely SEC filings. Hybrid work with strong growth potential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required; Master's or MBA is a plus.
• 7-10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3-5+ years in a publicly traded environment.
• 3+ years of direct people management experience.
• 3+ years of SOX 404 compliance experience, including ICFR design, RCM ownership, and external auditor management.
• Proven experience supporting SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q) and managing accelerated filing deadlines.
• Large ERP experience (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar); Workday preferred.
• Advanced Excel; experience with close management platforms (BlackLine, FloQast) a plus.
• Demonstrated experience with AI-powered accounting tools and data analytics preferred.
• CPA required; Big 4 or national public accounting experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end monthly, quarterly, and annual close under US GAAP, including close calendar, journal entry review, reconciliations, and consolidation.
• Directly manage, mentor and develop accounting staff with onboarding, training, and goal-setting.
• Review flux/variance analyses and contribute to Controller slide decks.
• Support preparation of SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q) and related schedules.
• Ensure Sarbanes-Oxley 404 compliance, including ICFR design and control updates.
• Lead initiatives to improve close, consolidation, and reporting processes.
• Drive adoption of AI-powered accounting tools and develop a technology roadmap.
• Translate business requirements into accounting policy improvements.
• Partner with FP&A, Treasury, Tax, Operations, and other teams for accurate reporting.
