Job summary

Directive Consulting is a leading B2B performance marketing agency hiring a Controller to scale our finance function. You will oversee accounting operations, drive automation, and provide insights across revenue, expenses, and cash flow from a remote-first setup.

You will lead a small team, manage month-end closes, and collaborate with cross-functional leaders to optimize performance. Competitive salary with strong benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent.
• 5+ years of professional accounting experience in a service-based company preferred.
• Familiarity with GAAP and monthly closing processes.
• Ability to drive process improvements and implement automation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable and cash management.
• Own the monthly revenue recognition process and related reporting.
• Maintain general ledger integrity with postings, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• Lead month-end and quarter-end close including accruals, prepaids, fixed assets and tax estimates.
• Prepare financial statements and perform variance analysis for management.
• Supervise compliance filings (1099s, registrations, sales/use tax).
• Support payroll processing and reconciliation of related accounts.
• Monitor vendor relationships and contract compliance.
• Collaborate with HR on onboarding and payroll systems.
• Mentor and manage accounting staff and interns.
