Mercury is seeking a Senior Data Scientist focused on Growth in New York to partner with Growth product, design, engineering and marketing leaders. This strategic, product-facing role owns the growth funnel from acquisition through retention and guides experimentation and decision support across teams.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in data science, product analytics, or growth analytics.
• Strong product sense with a track record of shaping product direction.
• Deep experience with experiment design and funnel/retention analysis.
• Fluency in SQL and a statistical language such as Python or R.
• Experience with product analytics and BI tools (Amplitude/Hex/Omni) and Snowflake/dbt a plus.
• Clear, concise communication with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsabilités

• Partner with Growth product, design, engineering, and marketing leaders to identify high-impact questions and influence what gets built and why.
• Own the growth funnel end-to-end from first visit to signup, activation, and retention.
• Build and maintain growth metrics, driver trees, and narratives to clarify where Mercury is winning and where performance is lacking.
• Size opportunities and help prioritize the Growth roadmap and annual planning with clear recommendations.
• Design, analyze, and communicate experiments, including A/B tests and quasi-experimental methods.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and Analytics Engineers to build trusted, self-serve growth metrics.
• Communicate findings and recommendations to executives with a clear point of view aligned to revenue growth.
