Job summary

OpenAI is seeking an experienced Creative Director to join our Growth creative team and drive creative excellence across global growth initiatives. This generalist role spans strategy, concept development, agency direction, and hands‑on execution across paid media, social, lifecycle, launches, and emerging opportunities.

You will partner with Growth Marketing, Brand, Product Marketing, Production, and external agencies to raise quality while preserving speed.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in creative roles, including leading multidisciplinary work across social, growth and integrated marketing.
• Creative generalist able to think strategically while maintaining execution and craft instincts.
• Expertise in social‑first creative with cross‑platform storytelling across platforms and audiences.
• Ability to balance native platform instincts with brand objectives.
• Portfolio demonstrating leadership across multiple channels and formats.
• Comfort using data, testing, and audience insights to sharpen creative thinking.

Responsibilities

• Lead creative direction across growth initiatives, setting a high bar for storytelling, design, writing, relevance and quality.
• Translate business objectives and audience insights into clear creative direction and breakthrough ideas.
• Develop scalable concepts and narratives for global use while remaining locally relevant.
• Partner with Growth Marketing to shape briefs, identify opportunities, and balance experimentation with brand integrity.
• Steer external agencies, provide direction and feedback to ensure craft and originality.
• Evolve processes, frameworks, and systems to enable faster execution without sacrificing quality.
• Identify testing patterns and campaign performance insights to inform future work.
• Collaborate with designers, writers, motion teams, producers and strategists to bring integrated ideas to life.
• Balance long‑term vision with rapid execution and navigate ambiguity with confidence.
