Job summary

Midi Health is seeking a Director of Engineering, Growth & Consumer in the San Francisco Bay Area, hybrid with 2 days/week in our San Francisco or Palo Alto office, to lead the consumer and growth engineering stack from discovery through engagement.

This player-coach role blends hands-on architecture, code reviews, and AI-assisted development with leadership, partnering with Product, Marketing, Design, and Data Science to scale the platform responsibly.

Qualifications

• Proven deep software engineering foundation with consumer experiences.
• 5+ years of engineering management experience and 10+ engineers led.
• Leadership as a player-coach, while staying technically credible.
• Strong product/consumer instincts driving outcomes for users and business.
• Executive communication, ambiguity navigation, and tradeoff discussion.
• Cross-functional trust with Product, Design, Marketing, Data Science.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering roadmap for Midi’s consumer and growth experiences.
• Build and lead high-performing engineering teams with ownership culture.
• Stay hands-on with architecture decisions, reviews, prototyping, AI tools.
• Partner with Product, Marketing, Design, and Data Science on scalable solutions.
• Improve quality, velocity, reliability, and operational health.
• Hire, mentor, and develop engineers and leaders as the org grows.
• Collaborate with Midi leaders on broader technology decisions.
• Define how AI and modern tools are used to build software.
