Job summary

State Bank is seeking a Universal Banker in Walbridge, OH. This full-time role focuses on customer service, sales, and cash handling within a community bank setting.

You will greet customers, identify opportunities to cross-sell products, and maintain accurate cash processes and records. Acting as a frontline representative, you will support personal and business accounts, handle routine inquiries, and contribute to branch goals while adhering to bank policies.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year of related banking experience.
• Experience opening and servicing both personal and business new accounts.
• Moderate reading, writing, and grammar skills.
• Proficient analytical and mathematics skills.
• Proficient communicative and interpersonal relations skills.
• Proficient eye-hand coordination.
• Ability to operate various office machines.
• Ability to lift approximately fifty (50) lbs. of coin.
• Visual and auditory skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of duties to support the customer service, sales, and paying and receiving function of the community office; coordinates work within the department and with other departments.
• Greets and serves customers in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Maintains awareness of new business opportunities with customers; offers relevant products and services to meet customer needs; refers customers to appropriate sales staff.
• Meets or exceeds referral and sales goals for both business and consumer clients.
• Handles customer concerns on statement reconciliation and other routine questions.
• Maintains knowledge of current bank products and services; processes changes to existing accounts.
• Assists in banking center call efforts by updating prospect lists; contact as needed.
• Accurately processes transactions including deposits, payments, transfers; balances cash drawer daily.
• Cashes checks within approved authority; Sells Cashier’s Checks.
• Processes night deposits and mail deposits.
• Maintains an approved cash level; handles excess and mutilated cash.
• Prepares daily settlement and proof of cash transactions.
• Prepares transactions for scanning; ensures proper documentation.
• Minimizes risk of losses and cash differences.
• Prepares reports such as currency transactions and BSA reports.
• Demonstrates knowledge of State Bank’s security program.
• Travel to other banking center locations as needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
