Job summary

Compass Health Center in Golden Valley, MN, seeks an Adult Group Therapist to lead evidence-based groups (CBT/DBT) for mood and anxiety, and to collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team. You will support crisis interventions, develop treatment plans, and contribute to cross-trained programs across specialties in a growing behavioral health model.

The role emphasizes group facilitation, family coaching, and evidence-based modalities within a dynamic, patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Master’s in Social Work/Clinical Counseling or other relevant Master’s/Doctoral programs.
• Hold or be eligible for licensure: LGSW, LPC, LCSW, LPCC, MSW, AMFT, LMFT, PsyD or PhD (preferred).
• 1+ year of post-Master’s clinical experience or relevant master’s internship.
• Core CBT/DBT skills and experience with crisis patients in high acuity environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and facilitate DBT/CBT skill groups.
• Provide crisis intervention and staff support as needed.
• Develop and document treatment plans and weekly updates.
• Co-facilitate experiential groups and family phone coaching/follow-up.
• Collaborate with treatment team and participate in interdisciplinary meetings.
• Provide individual support and milieu staff guidance as needed.

As an Adult Group Therapist , you will spend the majority of your time with our patients facilitating evidenced based groups using modalities like CBT, DBT, and ACT. We are seeking new and experienced clinicians with a passion for delivering dynamic and informative groups for our patients. This role will work with patients in our Mood & Anxiety Program, while also offering the opportunity to be cross-trained within our specialty programs and services: Trauma, OCD/Complex Anxiety, Mental Health and Substance Use.

What You'll Do:

• Developing and implementing DBT/CBT skill groups
• Providing crisis intervention and staff support, as needed
• Developing and documenting treatment plans and weekly update
• Co-facilitating creative expression and other experiential therapeutic groups
• Assisting program director in supporting families through phone coaching and follow-up calls
• Checking in with treatment team about changes and progress for individual patients
• Providing clinical observations and insights during interdisciplinary meetings
• Providing individual support to patients, as needed
• Providing support to other team members in various treatment groups
• Providing guidance and support for milieu staff during skills and executive functioning therapy activities/instruction
• Other duties, as assigned

Who You Are:

• Master’s in Social Work/Clinical Counseling or other relevant Master’s/Doctoral programs
• Hold or be eligible for one of the following licensures: LGSW, LPC, LCSW, LPCC, MSW, AMFT, LMFT, PsyD, or PhD (preferred)
• 1 + year of post-Master’s clinical experience, or a relevant master’s level internship
• Possess a core skill set of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
• Experience with patients in crisis, and a strong passion for working within high acuity environments

This range includes multiple career path levels across the organization; where you fall in the range is dependent upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, your years of experience, type of experience, location, and education/certifications. Compensation: $47,000 USD - $65,000 USD
