Job summary

Compass Health Center in Falls Church, VA is opening an adolescent/adult program and seeks an experienced Associate Director to supervise therapists, mentor staff, and shape the new location's culture. Qualifications

  • Licensed Doctorate Level Psychologist or Masters level clinician with independent license.
  • Experience with CBT, ACT, DBT, and Motivational Interviewing.
  • Experience supervising mental health workers.
  • Strong time management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Program Director in overseeing quality of care within Adolescent Programs/Services (Mood and Anxiety, Substance, OCD, and School Refusal).
  • Work with Compass’ Center of Excellence team to develop and refine program material and group curriculum.
  • Oversee and manage primary/family/group therapy operations, including mentoring and developing therapists.
  • Perform and support clinical roles including primary and family therapy.
  • Provide clinical supervision for staff working toward licensure.
  • Communicate with patients’ family members or support system as needed.
  • Coordinate care with outside providers to ensure continuity of care.
  • Engage in crisis management and professional development activities.
  • Participate in community outreach when indicated.
  • Conduct clinical intakes, chart progress, and provide group, individual, and family therapy as needed.
  • Advertise, interview, hire staff as needed.
  • Engage in frequent communication with team via rounds, EMR notes, emails, and face-to-face.
  • Support the clinical needs of the site across programs and roles.

Job description

Weekly outpatient therapy isn't always enough, and a trip to the ER isn't the only answer. Patients and their families rely on Compass Health Center when in crisis – every day, we help people overcome depression, anxiety, suicidality, obsessions/compulsions, trauma, chronic pain, and other obstacles in order for our patients to live freely.

About This Role

As the largest provider of PHP/IOP programs and psychiatric services in Illinois, Compass Health Center is one of the fastest-growing behavioral health organizations in the country. We are thrilled to expand our exceptionally innovative and highly distinguished programs that redefine our industry and raise the standard for comprehensive care.

Launching in early 2027, our newest location in Falls Church, VA, will be home to top local talent in behavioral health care. This interdisciplinary team of trailblazers will build our adolescent and adult programs from the ground up alongside the leadership of well-established clinicians and doctors working in PHP/IOP behavioral health care for the past decade.

As we prepare to open our Falls Church facility, we are looking for an experienced Associate Director to supervise, manage and mentor therapists across Compass Adolescent programming/services. In partnership with the rest of the Falls Church Leadership Team, you will play a key role in building and shaping a strong culture at the location, while offering direct coaching and development to our team. Our programs will serve patients across a variety of diagnoses including Mood/Anxiety, OCD/Complex Anxiety, Trauma, and Substance Use.

What You’ll Do
  • Assist Program Director in overseeing quality of care within Adolescent Programs/Services ( Mood and Anxiety, Substance, OCD, and School Refusal )
  • Working closely with Compass’ Center of Excellence team in oversight, implementation and continued development and refinement of program material and group curriculum
  • Oversee and manage primary/family/group therapy operations. This includes administrative responsibilities as well as mentoring, supervising, managing and developing therapists within the program.
  • Perform and support other clinical roles as needed including primary and family therapy
  • Providing clinical supervision for staff working towards licensure
  • Communicate with patients’ family members or support system, as needed
  • Coordinate care with patients’ outside providers to ensure continuity of care
  • Engaging in crisis management, as needed
  • Participating in professional development activities
  • As indicated, participating in community outreach
  • Conducting clinical intakes to identify clinical diagnoses, functional impairment, personal strengths and make treatment recommendations; charting progress of patients appropriately; providing group, individual, and family therapy, as needed
  • Advertise, interview, hire staff, as needed
  • Engage in frequent communication and collaboration with team members via rounds, EMR notes, emails, and face-to-face communication.
  • Support the clinical needs of the site in all programs and roles
Who You Are
  • Licensed Doctorate Level Psychologist, Masters Level Clinician with independent clinical license, or a postgraduate degree in a healthcare field
  • Knowledge and experience of group dynamics utilizing CBT, ACT, DBT, and Motivational Interviewing, among other effective treatments.
  • Experience with patients in crisis.
  • Experience supervising mental health workers, both licensed and seeking licensure.
  • Excellent time management skills, ability to juggle multiple demands simultaneously in a fast paced and changing environment.
  • Strength in collaborating and consulting with various programs and their differing needs
  • Strong communication skills

The expected compensation range for this role is below. This range includes multiple career path levels across the organization; where you fall in the range is dependent upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, your years of experience, type of experience, location, and education/certifications. Compass reserves the right to update these ranges. This role may also be eligible for an annual bonus which is dependent upon individual and company performance.

Compensation $90,000 — $110,000 USD
