Job summary

Compass Health Center in Oak Brook, IL is seeking a Primary Therapist to develop and implement individualized treatment plans. You will conduct individual therapy meetings, collaborate with outpatient teams, and guide patients through their overall treatment program with input from Group Therapists, Family Therapists, and Prescribers.

The role emphasizes crisis-informed care using CBT and DBT, coordinating with families, schools, and outside providers, and creating weekly schedules.

Qualifications

• Psychologist or Master’s level therapist; licensed or license-eligible as PhD/PsyD/LCSW/LCPC.
• Minimum 2+ years clinical experience post‑Master’s.
• Knowledge of CBT and DBT; evidence-based therapies.
• Crisis-care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct individual therapy sessions and develop treatment plans.

Job description

Patients and their families rely on CompassHealth Center whenincrisis – every day, wehelp people overcome depression, anxiety, suicidality, obsessions/compulsions, trauma, chronic pain, and other obstacles in order for our patients to live freely.

About This Role

As a Primary Therapist, you’ll work thoughtfully with our patients to develop and implement their individualized treatment plans. This role will consist of conducting individual therapy meetings, collaborating with patients’ outpatient teams, and leading patients through their overall treatment program. You’ll partner closely with the entirety of our treatment teams, including Group Therapists, Family Therapists, and Prescribers to ensure comprehensive and compassionate care.

What You’ll Do

• Complete initial intake evaluation to determine diagnosis and appropriateness of program
• Provide group and individual therapy
• Provide family therapy as needed
• Communicate with patients’ family members or support system, on a weekly basis or as needed
• Coordinate care with patients’ outside providers to ensure continuity of careCommunicate with patients’ homeschool and attend school re-entry meetings
• Create individualized weekly schedules for each patient based on need
• Assess patients’ progress and need for higher level of care, transition plan and/or discharge
• Chart progress of patients appropriately
• Provide insurance utilization team with updates
• Provide group therapy, as needed

Who You Are:

• Are a Psychologist or Master’s level therapist (required)
• Hold one of the following licenses: PhD, PsyD, LCSW, or LCPC (preferred)
• 2+ years clinical work experience post-Master’s (strongly preferred)
• Have knowledge and experience utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), as well as other evidenced-based therapies
• Have experience with patients in crisis, ideally prior experience working in partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, inpatient hospital, or residential setting

Compensation: $55,000 USD - $90,000 USD
