Job summary

Compass Health Center is seeking a Flex Group Therapist to lead evidence-based group therapies for adolescents and adults in PHP/IOP settings in Brookfield, Wisconsin.

You will facilitate CBT, DBT, and ACT groups, build therapeutic relationships, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support patients with Mood & Anxiety, OCD/Complex Anxiety, trauma, and related conditions.

Qualifications

• Psychologist or Master’s level therapist with strong CBT/DBT skills.
• Experience with mood and anxiety disorders, trauma, OCD/complex anxiety, and related conditions.
• Ability to facilitate group therapy in PHP/IOP settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide group therapy to patients in a safe therapeutic milieu.
• Develop effective therapeutic group relationships that promote positive change.
• Utilize CBT, DBT, and ACT, plus other evidenced-based therapies.
• Relay relevant clinical information during rounds and day-to-day contact.
• Learn and implement the Compass group curriculum to address patient needs.
• Engage in crisis management as needed.
• Chart in the EMR system.
• Participate in professional development activities.
• May meet with patients individually or with family members.
• Other duties as needed.

Patients and their families rely on CompassHealth Center whenincrisis – every day, wehelp people overcome depression, anxiety, suicidality, obsessions/compulsions, trauma, chronic pain, and other obstacles in order for our patients to live freely.

About This Role

Launched in September 2025, our location in Brookfield, WI, is already home to top local talent in behavioral health care. This interdisciplinary team of trailblazers are building our adolescent and adult programs from the ground up alongside the leadership of well-established clinicians, psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, and nurses working in PHP/IOP behavioral health care for the past decade.

As a Flex Group Therapist, you will spend the majority of your time with our patients facilitating evidenced based groups using modalities like CBT, DBT, and ACT. We are seeking new and experienced clinicians with a passion for delivering dynamic and informative groups for our patients. This role will work with Adolescent and Adult Patients (ages 12+) in our Mood & Anxiety Program, while also offering the opportunity to be cross-trained within our specialty programs and services: Trauma, OCD/Complex Anxiety, and School Anxiety/Refusal.

What You'll Do:

• Providing group therapy to patients in a safe and therapeutic milieu
• Developing effective therapeutic group relationships that promote positive change in patients
• Utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), as well as other evidenced-based therapies
• Relaying relevant clinical information to treatment team during daily rounds and throughout the program day as needed
• Learning and implementing the Compass group curriculum especially to address patient needs
• Engaging in crisis management, as needed
• Charting in our electronic medical records system
• Participating in professional development activities
• This position may also include meeting with patients individually or with family members
• Other duties as needed

Who You Are:

• Are passionate about facilitating group therapy and seeking an environment to work collaboratively with others
• Are a Psychologist or Master’s level therapist
• Have prior experience or interest in working with patients of varying diagnoses including Mood & Anxiety, OCD/Complex Anxiety, Trauma, Mental Health and Substance Use
• Possess a core skill set of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills
• Have prior experience working in partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, inpatient hospital, or residential setting (preferred, not required)

Compensation

$47,000—$65,000 USD
