Job summary

Benhaven Residential Services is seeking an Assistant Manager for one of our group homes in New Haven. This full-time, 30 hours/week non-exempt role requires weekend and second-shift availability and leadership of staff in daily operations.

The Assistant Manager partners with the Residential Manager to provide supervision, training, and a positive environment for residents. Responsibilities include staffing, behavior plan oversight, and resident programming.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Flexibility to work second shift and weekends; participate in meetings/appointments as needed.
• Must have CT driver’s license and a reliable vehicle with insurance.
• Experience with autism and/or developmental disabilities; computer skills with Therap or similar systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee household routines and provide feedback on operations.
• Provide on-site leadership, briefing, and debriefing to staff.
• Implement house staffing systems and manage overtime.
• Train staff in routines and observe performance.
• Act as House Manager in absence of the Manager and participate in on-call duties.
• Assist in creating and maintaining staffing schedules and resident programs.
• Supervise staff implementation of behavior plans and resident routines.
• Document resident programs and ISP/behavior plans for staff.
