Job summary

YMCA of Metro Atlanta is seeking a Level I Group Exercise Instructor to lead land and water classes, select safe music, set up and take down, and educate participants about health concepts. You will work under the Wellness Director, ensuring wellness programs align with YMCA standards and community impact goals.

You must maintain CPR/AED and other certifications, complete required trainings, and support community health initiatives through THE COACH APPROACH® and safe practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Land instructors must obtain YMCA/ACE Group Exercise Instructor Certification within 60 days of hire date; Strength/conditioning cert if teaching certain formats.
• Water instructors must obtain YMCA/AEA certifications within 60 days of hire date.
• Must obtain and maintain access to Y-Link and Metro Atlanta YMCA Workday account.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily program tasks related to the position’s scope and responsibilities.
• Promote, monitor, and ensure group exercise classes run smoothly with high service quality.
• Maintain wellness/CPR certifications and continuing education requirements.
