Job summary

The YMCA of Metro Atlanta in Covington is seeking a Level I Group Exercise Instructor to lead land and water fitness classes, select music, set up and break down sessions, and educate participants on the COACH APPROACH and wellness topics.

You will maintain CPR/AED and other certifications, log attendance in GroupEx PRO, complete required certifications within 60 days, and work under the Wellness Director to deliver safe, engaging programs for all ages.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must obtain YMCA/ACE Group Exercise Instructor Certification within 60 days of hire.
• Must pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily program tasks related directly to the position's scope and responsibilities.
• Promote, monitor, evaluate, and ensure that group exercise classes run smoothly with a high level of service to participants.
• Maintain all wellness certifications by meeting continuing education requirements.
• Attend required staff meetings and training courses.
• Secure substitute instructor in a timely manner if unable to teach a class.
