Job summary

Requirements include a High School diploma and a professional group exercise certification (ACE/AFAA/NASM). At least one year of experience in leading classes and strong communication skills are expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Group Exercise Certification from ACE, AFAA, or NASM preferred.
• At least one year of experience leading group exercise classes.
• Experience in a fitness or wellness environment, preferably within a YMCA.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to motivate diverse participants.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct group exercise classes for various fitness levels.
• Demonstrate and instruct safe and effective exercise techniques.
• Maintain a welcoming atmosphere and foster community within the class.
• Monitor participant progress and adjust exercises as needed.
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of the exercise area.
• Stay up-to-date with fitness trends and YMCA practices.
• Collaborate with YMCA staff to promote programs and member participation.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and emergency procedures.
