Job Purpose:- The Group Exercise Instructor at YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago is responsible for delivering high-quality group fitness classes that motivate and engage participants. The instructor will create a safe and welcoming environment while promoting health and wellness through effective exercise routines.Key Responsibilities:- Plan and deliver group exercise classes that are suitable for participants of varying fitness levels.- Ensure the safety and well-being of all class participants by providing clear instructions and modifications as needed.- Maintain a clean and organized workout space, adhering to YMCA standards and guidelines.- Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages participation and supports the YMCA's mission of promoting healthy living.- Stay updated on current fitness trends and incorporate new techniques into classes to enhance participant experience.- Build relationships with members to encourage continued participation and membership retention.- Collaborate with other YMCA staff to support community events and initiatives related to health and fitness.- Attend regular training sessions and meetings to maintain certification and improve instructional skills.Required Education:- High school diploma or equivalent.
