Job summary

Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx is seeking seasonal part-time staff to support the Group Events team on home game nights. Two shifts per game day with availability on weekends and holidays. Training begins mid-October, with roles through the season and potential playoffs.

Responsibilities include staffing Group/Redemption zones, assisting with promotions, and delivering excellent customer service to fans. Prior experience in customer service is preferred.

Position Summary/Objective:

The individuals in this position provide pivotal support to the Group Events team with the execution of game night functions (before, during and after all home games). This will be a seasonal part-time role, through the season and potential playoffs.

We will start interviewing and hiring mid-September, and will make offers around early October. The first full shift will be Wednesday, October 14th, training and orientation will take place prior.

Each game day will consist of 2 shifts, the first will take place sometime between approximately 10am-4pm, and the second sometime between approximately 4pm-10pm. Expected availability is for at least one shift each game day.

What would you do?

• Assist with the fulfillment of all Group Events fan experiences at Timberwolves home games.
• Staff the Group Zone and Redemption Zone booths at Timberwolves home games.
• Assist with implementation of single-game group ticket promotions and redemptions.
• Interact with fans, field questions, and provide excellent customer service.
• Support initiatives & promotions in the office as needed.
• Perform and strengthen other duties as they are assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Other:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
• Computer skills required: experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).
• Ability to manage specific tasks in the department under supervision.
• Ability to work well on a team and independently.
• Able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays.

Pay Rate: $17.00 per hour.

Experience: Previous customer service or sales experience is preferred.

Supervisory Responsibility, if any: No.

Work Environment This job operates in a sports/entertainment arena environment. Staff will work Timberwolves and Lynx home games; Work is generally moving in nature. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions. Work is generally performed within a sports arena, which includes bleachers/steps.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate and exchange information with others both in person and over the telephone. The employee frequently is required to remain in a stationary position and will frequently ascend and descend bleachers/steps and traverse around the arena both on event days and non-event days. Staff may occasionally move boxes weighing up to 30 pounds.

Position may require infrequent travel to external events.
