Job summary

The Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx are seeking an Account Executive in Group Events to develop, service, and nurture client relationships. You will be a full menu consultant with a strong emphasis on selling group events and group ticket inventory for both the Timberwolves & Lynx.

Responsibilities include generating new revenue, cold calling, selling group tickets and memberships, and maintaining CRM records.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of sales experience preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays.

Position Summary/Objective: The primary focus of this position is to develop, service, and nurture client relationships. As an Account Executive in Group Events, you are a full menu consultant with a strong emphasis on selling group events and group ticket inventory for both the Timberwolves & Lynx.

Essential Functions

  • Make cold calls, attend charity and networking events, and conduct professional meetings to engage with potential clients.
  • Sell group tickets as well as full and partial season memberships and premium seating to new and existing clients.
  • Meet or exceed weekly “hustle” requirements and appointment expectations.
  • Build excellent client relationships by developing unique touch points, promptly responding to requests or communications, and establishing a dynamic relationship with all customers.
  • Detail all communication efforts in CRM in a timely manner.
  • Participate in educational opportunities on product offerings, pricing, and sales strategies, as well as market trends and industry standards to develop your skills.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Other:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Computer skills required: experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) is preferred.
  • Able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to work well on a team and independently.
  • Ability to manage specific processes and tasks in the department under supervision.
  • Knowledge of CRM and Veritix is preferred.

Experience: Minimum one (1) year of sales experience is preferred. Customer service experience is also preferred.


Education:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.


Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, etc.:
Knowledge of business practices within professional sports is preferred.


Supervisory Responsibility, if any:
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities

Benefits & Compensation

  • Compensation: The base salary range for this non-exempt role will be: $50,000. There are opportunities for an annual corporate bonus. Total compensation & offer package will include the following:
  • Benefits:Regular full-time employees have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, health saving accounts with an employer contribution, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, and life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance. Additional benefits may include employer-paid short/long-term disability plans, generous fitness and well-being benefits, work-related reimbursements, and fully paid family/caregiver leave. Regular full-time employees start with 11 Holidays, at least 20 paid PTO days, 2 Volunteer days, and 4 Personal Holidays in each calendar year.

This job operates in a professional office environment. In addition to working office hours staff will be required to work Timberwolves and Lynx home games as well as external events including but not limited to: charity and networking events. Work is generally sedentary in nature, and the working environment is favorable. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available. This job also operates in a sports arena, which includes bleachers/steps as well as moderate to high levels of noise.

Physical Demands:

physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate and exchange information with others both in person and over the telephone. The employee frequently is required to remain in a stationary position as well as operate computers and other office equipment, such as a copy machine, printer and telephone. Staff will frequently sit, stand, walk, and ascend and descend bleachers/steps in the arena. Staff may occasionally move boxes of merchandise weighing up to 30 pounds.

Travel:Position may require travel to external events.
