Job summary

Walmart Global Tech in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking a Group Director, Applied AI & Engineering to lead an elite team building Walmart’s next-generation intelligence layer. You will own vision, strategy, and execution for scalable foundational models trained on multi-modal data, powering Search, Personalization, Ads, and more.

You will guide technical vision, orchestrate a high-scale engineering org, and collaborate with product and business leaders to maximize value across Walmart’s ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in computer science or quantitative field is required.
• 8+ years managing and scaling data science/ML teams, with 3+ years managing managers.
• Experience designing, training, and deploying large-scale deep learning models.
• Knowledge of distributed training frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Define multi-year roadmap for Walmart’s Commerce Foundational Models.
• Lead a world-class Applied AI researchers, ML engineers, and data scientists.
• Partner with product, engineering, and business leaders to integrate models and drive business value.
• Serve as the primary evangelist for foundational models within Walmart Global Tech.
