Walmart Global Tech is seeking a Distinguished Software Engineer to lead the design and development of scalable, cloud-native AI-powered systems. You will translate strategic objectives into system-level implementations, drive continuous improvement and mentor teams to uphold architectural excellence.

The role demands strong technical judgment, ownership, and collaboration across the full software lifecycle, with emphasis on reliability, security and performance in Walmart’s enterprise setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering or related area and 6 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
• Option 2: 8 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
• Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering or related area and 4 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
• Knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility standards and inclusive design practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of scalable, cloud-native AI-powered software systems.
• Translate domain strategies into system-level implementations and align teams.
• Drive operational excellence through DevOps, CI/CD, reviews and architecture decisions.
