Job summary

American Addiction Centers is seeking a Counselor I to provide individual, group and family counseling, conduct clinical assessments, and coordinate care for adults with addiction and co-occurring disorders.

You'll work with a treatment team to deliver evidence-based practices, maintain documentation, and advocate for patients while upholding HIPAA and state standards. This full-time role offers competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Sciences required.
• CADC certification required.
• Minimum 2 years in behavioral health field.
• Experience with substance abuse, addictions and mental health.
• Knowledge of ASAM criteria and documentation practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual, group and family counseling.
• Conduct clinical assessments for new patients and ongoing assessments.
• Maintain full patient caseload and provide treatment planning.
• Participate in treatment team and coordinate care.
• Ensure timely documentation and HIPAA/compliance adherence.
• Work with inpatient/outpatient populations and crisis intervention as needed.
