Job summary

Xylem Tree Experts and Kendall Vegetation Services in Walterboro, SC is seeking a full-time Groundsperson. The role involves working from the ground to manage vegetation, loading and unloading trucks, and ensuring safe site operations.

Travel is required during storm restoration work. Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license (CDL preferred), and experience in related fields.

Qualifications

• Background check and drug screen required.
• CDL preferred; valid driver’s license required.
• Experience in vegetation management or related fields preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work from the ground to keep work area clear of debris using handsaws, pole saws and pruners, hand pruners, loppers, and gasoline-powered equipment to cut brush and trees.
• Define staging areas and setting up/breaking down material, tools, and equipment as required.
• Prepare and feed brush into woodchipper and load/unload trucks with logs, stumps, brush, and debris.
• Operate various trucks and equipment as assigned and perform basic maintenance on trucks and equipment.
• Safeguard employees and the public from hazards; flag traffic during work.
• Able to work long hours and overtime during emergencies.
